Fresh from victory over Rendall Munroe, yesterday it was announced that Commonwealth Featherweight champion Josh Warrington (17-0) will defend his title at First Direct Arena in Leeds on Wednesday May 21. This will be the first Matchroom Boxing card in the city.

On Saturday night Sheffield middleweight prospect Adam Etches (15-0) fights Mexican Felipe De la Paz Teniente (12-1) for the chance to add more silverware to his mantlepiece. The pair will contest the vacant WBC Youth middleweight title.

Martin Murray

Former world title challenger Martin Murray (26-1-1) looks in good shape before his South African debut at Emperors Palace on Wednesday, where he fights Ghanaian Ishmael Tetteh (29-10-2). The St. Helens middleweight has been in South Africa for 10 days in preparation after signing a promotional deal with promoter Golden Gloves that he hopes will culminate in another world title fight.

Stuart Hall and Paul Butler clash on June 7 in Newcastle

Darlington’s IBF Bantamweight champion Stuart Hall (16-2-2) and Ellesmere Port’s unbeaten Paul Butler (15-0) will meet at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena on Saturday June 7. Subject to final approval from the IBF, it will be Hall’s second voluntary defence.
