Fielding now faces Blackledge, Murray pulls out with a virus

Liverpudlian Rocky Fielding (16-0) will now defend his Commonwealth super middleweight strap against Accrington’s Luke Blackledge (14-1) after the match with New York based Guyanan Lennox Allen fell through.

Promoters Matchroom then had former champion Charles Adamu lined up as a replacement, but visa issues prevented that from happening.

This afternoon, Blackledge, who was due to challenge British champion Paul Smith in December, accepted the offer from Hearn to step in at short notice for the Commonwealth shot.

St Helens two-time world title challenger Martin Murray has pulled out of his scheduled 10 round contest with Sergey Khomitsky, suffering with a virus.

Eric Armit's Snips and Snipes - April 17, 2014

The live gate for Pacquiao vs. Bradley II came to almost $8 million, so with Pacquiao guaranteed $20 million and Bradley $6 million it gives a picture of just how much money TV puts into the pot. I am surprised there is not a market in 'idols of the gods of TV' as there's a lot of big time fighters who should be worshipping at the entertainment temple that makes them so rich.
