Cunningham the latest to face the Del test
Doncaster’s Jason Cunningham is expecting a tough fight against 146 fight veteran, Delroy Spencer when they meet at the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham on Saturday 18th February.
“Delroy's been around a long time, everyone knows the name and he's been in with all the prospects. Having had 146 fights he'll know all the tricks of the trade, he doesn't get stopped often either so he should be pretty tough and durable in there,” said Jason.
The bantamweight contest will support the WBC International super-bantamweight title fight between Sheffield’s Kid Galahad and Nottingham’s former world title challenger Jason Booth and Chris Eubank Jr’s second pro fight against Jason Ball.
The Galahad vs. Booth and Eubank vs. Ball fights will be shown exclusively on Channel 5.
The 2011 ABA Elite national champion who trains at the St Paul's Boxing Academy in Hull believes his professional debut last December against Anwar Alfadli taught him a lot for his future in the professional game.
“I learnt a great deal from my first fight, I got the rounds in the bag which was important. It was my first taste of pro boxing and I felt it suited me down to the ground, I could take my time, pick my shots and plant the feet a little more.
“So I expect to dominate the fight. If I'm to go as far as me and my team believe I will, then I need to be winning these fights comfortably. So certainly a Cunningham win.”
