Wladimir Klitschko v David Haye confirmed for this summer in Germany

Both Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye have confirmed separately that their camps have reached an agreement for them to fight this summer in Germany.

The venue has yet to be announced but the date, according to the pair, will be either June 25th or July 2nd.

If anyone is still wondering, Klitschko's proposed defence against Dereck Chisora, set for April, is no longer happening. Klitschko withdrew from a December match with Chisora, citing an abdominal injury and yesterday said that this injury had not healed sufficiently for that match to proceed. In what appears to be one of life's incredible coincidences, a day later a match with Haye was announced.

Hardbitten fans who have been here before will not believe it really is going to happen until the referee brings them together to issue his instructions. But the buzz is already permeating boxing circles and Germany is set for a summer invasion of British fight fans.
