Team Khan gets rid of conditioning coach
In what has been a poor month for Amir Khan and his handlers, Alex Ariza, the conditioning coach who has been widely praised for helping the boxer improve his physique and fitness, appears to have been sacked.
Ariza has made some outrageous accusations to BoxingScene.com (outrageous if true and even more so if false) that his hotel room had been broken in to and copies of his contract to work for Khan removed along with other documentation.
Ariza says he has never had a problem with the boxer personally but that it revolves around his handlers.
The news came at the end of the week in which Team Khan had been accused of making a derisory offer to European champion Paul McCloskey, with the Ulsterman's manager taking the very unusual step of making the fine detail of the proposed contract public.
Khan, who will box in England on a Sky PPV card on April 16th, needs to secure an opponent soon. Australian warrior Michael Katsidis is the latest name thrown into the hat.
