Hayemaker wins purse bids for DeGale v Groves

Hayemaker Promotions has won the purse bids to stage the BBBoC mandated British super-middleweight title fight between champion James DeGale and Commonwealth champion George Groves.

The Board's last circular detailing the purse bids said the match must take place by April 11th. Groves withdrew from a scheduled fight this Saturday in Liverpool due to injury. Should his injury necessitate an extension of this date, the Board could allow this.

If this was the case it would set up a very nice undercard match for David Haye's tentatively scheduled May 21st WBA heavyweight title defence.
