Froch will mix business and pleasure on Vegas trip

Nottingham's WBC champion Carl 'The Cobra' Froch is packing his suitcase for the States in the next couple of weeks with his beautiful girlfriend Rachael Cordingley to be a special guest at the forthcoming Manny Pacquiao versus Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"I'm really looking forward to going back to the MGM Grand for another big fight. The last time I went there was for my hero Prince Naseem's fight with Marco Antonio Barrera. I lost a fortune on that fight and drown my sorrows after Naz got defeated by the better man that night.

"Myself and Glen Johnson will be doing the press conference out there announcing our fight in Atlantic City," said Froch from his Sheffield training base as he prepared to put in another hard day's sparring under the watchful eye of his trainer Robert McCracken.

Johnson, the Miami-based Jamaican, has the respect of the 'Cobra' after smashing the likes of Roy Jones Junior in an under-appreciated career.

"Johnson is big tough silverback of a man. He's gonna bring it and he means business. This is his big shot at fame, to bag a win over someone like me and then the winner of Abraham versus Ward. He's going to throw the kitchen sink at me, but he's going to have a fight on his hands because I've took a tougher route to world success than he has - and I'm not about to let a Super Six final slip through my fingers!

"So after getting back from Vegas, I will be doing a week or more back in Sheffield before flying back out mid-May to get fully into the east coast time zone. I'm leaving no stone unturned in camp to ensure I bring my A-game.

"It will be a brilliant fight for the fans, because me and Glen both like a ruck - but my superior skills will overcome him. I plan on making a statement, so get yourself on a plane and be there!"

Froch is almost certain to covered by regular Sky Sports for his next fight, in the wake of his departure from Hennessy Sports. This spells good news for his British fans who have bemoaned their hero's lack of popular television coverage.
