Exclusive - Kell Brook bound for Matchroom Sports

BoxRec News understands that one of British boxing's best prospects, Kell Brook, signed a promotional contract with Matchroom Sports today.

Brook recently became a free agent after his contract with Frank Warren expired and the Sheffield welterweight has decided he would prefer pastures new.

'Special K' blasted through most of the domestic division, winning the Lonsdale belt outright in 13 rounds over a period of 13 months in 2008/9. He made it to number one contender status with the WBO and his last three fights have seen him beat Krzysztof Bienias, Michael Jennings and, latterly, the completely out of his depth Philip Kotey.

Whatever the reasons, the really big fights have not come his way thus far and Brook will hope that changes soon.
