Etches the latest to visit the church of Brendan Ingle
Adam Etches believes teaming up with the renowned Ingle family will help take him to the next level.
The unbeaten Sheffield light-middleweight prospect splits his training time between Bob Shannon’s HQ at Hatton Health and Fitness, Hyde and the Ingles Wincobank gym.
Brendan and Dominic Ingle have been brought in after Etches recently split with Andy Marlow. Big ticket seller Etches bids for his fifth pro win when he tangles with Belarussian Yauheni Abdurazakau at Sheffield’s Ponds Forge Arena on Saturday 24th September.
The main event on the Sky televised bill sees Dewsbury’s Gary Sykes bid to win a Lonsdale belt outright when he risks his British super-featherweight title against Cardiff’s Gary Buckland.
Etches, 20, said: “Andy did a top job with me, but I was going a little stale. I will always be grateful to him.
"I am sure the Ingles and Bob will keep me improving towards title level.
“Everybody knows the Ingles and although their way of training is different to what I am used to, they have been brilliant.
“They are adding another string to my bow by improving my footwork and teaching me how to deal with slippery fighters.
“I am so lucky have them and Bob and by using two gyms I have the best of both worlds and I look forward to going training every day.”
Abdurazakau, 23, has won eight of his 14 bouts and Etches added: “He has never been stopped and is a tough kid.”
