David Haye could be made WBA 'super champion'

It is rumoured that WBA champion David Haye will be elevated to 'super champion' status by the governing body.

This is, of course, so they can get more sanctioning fees by allowing other boxers to square off for their basic level 'world' title (as well as interim versions and whatever else they dream up).

Teddy Atlas was quoted by a French media source as saying that his charge, Alexander Povetkin - who narrowly missed out on a fight with Haye - might box Jean Marc Mormeck for the 'ordinary' world title.

"My boxer ranks second in the rankings of the WBA and Mormeck is the next available boxer," said Atlas, before pointing out that Germany in early July was a possibility for the yet to be signed match.
