Carl Froch reveals talks with Jean Pascal

Mapping out his desired strategy beyond 2011 and the long-awaited conclusion of the Super Six tournament, Carl Froch has outlined three future targets - Mikkel Kessler, Joe Calzaghe and Jean Pascal.

The WBC super-middleweight champion revealed today that he has an informal verbal agreement with Jean Pascal for a return match.

Froch beat Pascal in an epic give and take contest for the vacant WBC title in front of his Nottingham fans in December 2008 (pictured). Pascal has since gone on to claim that governing body's world title at light-heavyweight.

"The first pick for me would be the Kessler fight. I’ve had a decision go against me with him and I want to rectify that immediately.

"I don’t think that’s the biggest fight out there. The Pascal fight at light-heavyweight is a big, big fight. The Calzaghe fight is a dream fight - not just me but all fight fans would want to see and if that fight can happen it’s a fight that should happen – I know he’s been retired and out of the gym for a while but it’s not something you can rule out.

"He’s talking about 'I want this much money' - if he’s talking about it, he’s not ruling it out!"

Froch revealed that he recently met with Jean Pascal and the pair discussed a rematch.

"I talked to him about three weeks ago in a café in Canada. We had a little chat; we’ve got a little verbal thing going off – he wants to get the blemish off his record and I want to fight for the WBC title at light-heavyweight. It’s a fight that could very easily be made.

"He needs to get past Hopkins on May 21st and I’m sure he will."
