Brook v N'Dou weigh in news
Kell Brook says he is desperate to impress as he faces Lovemore N’dou in his hometown show tomorrow night live on Sky Sports 2 and HD2. The Hillsborough Leisure Centre is sold-out as the unbeaten welterweight aims to be the first fighter to stop the experienced Australian-based South African, fighting in his 63rd contest.
“I cannot wait to get in there tomorrow night,” said Brook at Friday’s weigh-in at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. “It’s a sell-out show and I reckon we could’ve sold it out twice with all the people still asking me for tickets.
“N’dou is the toughest fight of my career so far but I need tests like this to prove that I am ready to mix it at world level. He’s been in with the likes of Saul Alvarez and Matthew Hatton and has gone the distance with them so I know what’s ahead of me.
“But training has been fantastic and I am in great shape and I believe I can be the first to stop him, I really do.”
Fellow Sheffield fighter Ryan Rhodes was at the weigh-in fresh from his fight with Alvarez in Mexico, and the 34 year-old is confident Brook can step up to the mark. “N’dou is a step up for Brook but I think he’s ready for it. They both look in fantastic shape so it’s looking like it will be a very good fight – and I fancy Kell to do the business.”
