Ota comes on in the middle rounds, but behind on points when he has Yuba in serious trouble at the end of the eighth. Yuba still not recovered and under pressure early in the ninth when the referee stops the fight. Ota , 29,retains OPBF title for fourth time and Japanese title for third time. Good learning fight for 29-year-old Di Luisa who had won his previous eleven by KO/TKO. The home town fighter made a cautious start and the movement of Acosta gave him trouble in the early rounds. It was still close until the closing rounds when a strong finish by Di Luisa, and a points deduction against Acosta for use of the head, clinched the decision. Di Luisa wins vacant WBC International Silver belt title. Scores 118-111, 117-111 and 115-113. De Vitis and Morra a good little scrap shortened by a cut. Belgrade, Serbia: Light Middle: Nikola Stevanovic (22-1-1) W KO 11 Stefano Castellucci (18-1-1).Good match on paper, but the height and reach advantages of “Johnny” Stevanovic, 24, too much for previously unbeaten Castellucci. Costa Mesa, USA: Super Bantam: Chris Martin W PTS 10 Charles Huerta. Super Feather: Ronny Rios WPTS 8 Georgi Kevilishvili. Huerta looked unlucky in this one. Huerta made a good start with his jab and movement whilst Martin tried to counter punch his way into the fight. Well behind at the halfway mark, Martin staged a strong finish. He floored Huerta in the ninth with a low blow. Huerta was given a couple of minutes to recover and seemed to hold his own in the last round. Huerta looked to have done enough in the early rounds, but the judges may have been swayed by the aggression of Martin, who won on scores of 96-94 twice and a way out of line 99-91. Rios given a good learning fight by light punching Georgian who was always in the fight and kept it close. Despite a cut over his left eye, Rios used a strong body attack to keep Kevilishvili on the back foot but never really dominated, although deserving the verdict. Scores 77-75 twice and 78-74.

Scores 79-73 by all three officials. Rivera, a former WBA welter and light welter champ was having his first fight since August 2008. Maysonnet his first since September 2008.

Uses sharp jab and body attack to control the fight, and Adjaho seems bent on survival and never really into the fight until he comes alive in the ninth. Scores 99-91 from all three officials. Julio, who lost to Sergey Dzinziruk for WBO light middle title in 2008, was having his first fight since August. Five loses in a row for Benin fighter. Light Heavy: Nick Poulard (17-3) W PTS 10 Frankie Santos (17-10-4). Welter: Kevin Bizier(15-0) W KO 5 Mauro Lucero (46-15-1). Hopkins, 46, makes history as he becomes oldest man to win one of the titles of the four recognised sanctioning bodies. Uses all of his experience to outpoint Pascal and win the WBC title. Again it was not a pretty fight, with too much clinching, but Hopkins was setting the pace, doing the cleaner work and out manoeuvring his younger opponent. The Executioner even found time to taunt Pascal and to do push ups between the sixth and seventh rounds. Hopkins could have been credited with knock-downs in the ninth and tenth rounds as Pascal's glove touched the canvas, but the referee did not rule them knock-downs. Haitian-born Pascal, 28, had his moments, hurting Hopkins in the fourth and also in the last, and made the bout close, but this was Hopkins night. Scores 116-112, 115-113 and 115-114. This was the fifth defence of the WBC title for Pascal including a disputed draw with Hopkins in December. This was Hopkins' 27th world title fight, not bad for a guy who lost his first professional fight.
Southpaw Dawson, 28, scores important win as he takes clear unanimous verdict over former WBC champion “The Shark” Diaconu. “Bad” Chad fights a clever tactical fight, and with his height and reach advantages, he dominates with his jab not letting Diacona get his punches off. Romanian comes into it in the late rounds as Dawson tires, and scores with heavy rights, but Dawson, now being trained by Manny Steward, not in trouble and takes verdict on scores of 118-110, 117-111 and 116-112.Former WBC and IBF champ Dawson lost a technical decision to Pascal for WBC title in August, and Diaconu lost his WBC title to Pascal in December 2009. Poulard, 33, the half-brother of Pascal, wins every round against Puerto Rican Santos. Has Santos in trouble in the ninth but can't apply the finish and has to settle for points win. Scores 100-90 from all three judges. Bizier, 26, makes it eleven wins by KO/TKO as he puts away Mexican veteran with a left hook to the body. Lucero, 39, had suffered a bad cut at the start of the fifth in a clash of heads, but had no answer to the left hook.
Moscow, Russia: Cruiser: Denis Lebedev (21-1) W KO 10 Roy Jones Jr. (54-8). Super Bantam: Alex Bakhtin (27-0) W PTS 10 Jose Angel Beranza (33-20-3). Light Heavy: Ismayl Sillakh (16-0) W TKO 3 Hamza Wandera (12-3-2). Super Feather: Yaundale Evans (14-0) W TKO 5 Ruslan Berchuk (4-3). Light Welter: Nate Campbell (34-8-1,1ND) W PTS 8 Sherzod Nazarov (12-5). Southpaw Lebedev, 29, scores brutal last round kayo over once great 42-year-old Jones. Typical start by Jones as he show boats with hands down and Lebedev, now trained by Kostya Tszyu, finds it has to get any rhythm going. Jones scoring with hard, fast shots, but not fazing Lebedev. Big right in fourth hurts Jones, and from the on he seems to tire and Lebedev hunting Jones down with Jones firing very little in return and just covering up. Jones exhausted in the last. Caught on the ropes a big overhand right practically knocks Jones out on his feet. He bends double and Lebedev lands another volley as Jones falls forward on his face to the canvas. Jones down for a long time and some anxiety, but he recovers. Third loss in a row for Jones-and he still says he may fight on! Lebedev lost a split decision to Marco Huck for the WBO title in December.
Just a sparring session really for Bakhtin, 29, as clever Russian handles grizzled Mexican veteran with ease. Former Japanese champ Bakhtin wins by a mile. Scores 100-90 twice and 100-91. Bakhtin lost his Japanese title for being involved in a street fight in Tokyo. Easy for Ukrainian prospect Sillakh. He is in charge from the first bell against out of depth African. Floors Sweden-based Ugandan southpaw in third and is punishing Wandera again when referee stops the fight. Now 13 wins by KO/TKO for 26-year-old Sillakh. Easy also for Evans. The Ohio “Money Shot” takes a round to figure out Berchuck and then takes control of the fight, scoring with ease. Big right in the fifth stuns Berchuk and referee stops the fight. Campbell, 39, just has too much experience and skill for Uzbek Nazarov and wins unanimous verdict. Scores 80-74, 79-73 and 79-74. “The Galaaxy Warrior” was without a win in his last four.
Tuxtla Gutierrez, Mexico: Super Fly: Tomas Rojas (36-12-1,1ND) W TKO 11 Juan Jose Montes (19-2). Bantam: Juan Alberto Rosas (34-6) W KO 6 John Alberto Molina (28-17-3). Bantam: Felipe Orucuta (20-1) W KO 3 Julio David Roque Ler (30-9 ). Late developer Rojas retains WBC title as he batters inexperienced challenger Montes. Southpaw Rojas, 30, in charge from the start with his lateral movement and accurate punching against the wild hooking attacks of 21-year-old Montes. Montes cheek swelling from second, and right eye damaged in fourth. Rojas, making his second defence, scoring freely and slowly breaking Montes down. Montes tries to swing the fight with big effort in tenth, but takes a beating in the eleventh and he does not come out at the bell for the last. Former IBF super fly champ Rosas and Molina, 34, exchange series of low blows in rough fight. Rosas, 27, always scoring heavier and body shot puts Colombian down for count in sixth. Prospect Orucuta uses vicious body attack to wear down experienced Argentinian. Body punch softens Ler up and volley puts him down and out. “Gallito” 25, a finalist in the Azteca tournament, now has 16 wins by KO/TKO.
San Martin Texmelucan de Labastida, Mexico: Light Fly: Juan Palacios (28-3,1ND) W PTS 12 Sammy Gutierrez (28-6). Super Fly: Oscar Ibarra (27-4) W TKO 7 Juanito Rubillar (48-17-1). Welter: Jose Lopez (10-0-1) W PTS 10 Jorge Paez Jr (27-4-1). The speed and better boxing of Nicaraguan Palacios, 30, takes him to a unanimous verdict to lift the WBA interim title. “Exterminator” Palacios better boxing seems him take the first three rounds, The aggression of Gutierrez gives him rounds four to seven, but the champion also suffers a cut in the seventh. Gutierrez, 25, shakes Palacios in eighth, but then the fast 5-6 punch combinations of the Nicaraguan seem him edge the late rounds. Scores 115-113 twice and 116-112. Palacios has lost only twice in the last eleven years and they were a split decision to Jose Antonio Aguirre and a majority verdict to Oleydong, both in WBC title fights.
Ibarra slowly hunts down experienced Filipino southpaw who is finally worn down and taking punishment in the seventh when the referee stops the fight. Rubillar, 34, has had four world title shots, but has won only two of his last nine fights. Pigue, Argentina: Jorge Heiland (18-2) W PTS 10 Sergio Sanders (17-6-2). Tough war sees Heiland win a very controversial majority decision, which even he disagrees with. Southpaw “El Gaucho de Pigue” with his hands permanently at waist level, and swinging wildly, took the first four rounds with some strong rights to head and body. Sanders then took over with his more accurate punching finding gaps in the poor defence of Heiland. Heiland loses his mouth piece in the fifth, seventh, eighth (when he was deducted a point) and ninth. Heiland had a big eighth, but Sanders took the ninth and tenth. Scores 97-95 ½ twice and 95-95. Heiland, who lost on points to Sebastian Zbik for the interim WBC title last July, even when he was having his own hand lifted by the referee, made it obvious to his home town fans that he thought Sanders won the fight.
Aitkenvale, Australia: Light Heavy: Joel Casey (13-8-3 W TKO 3 Komgrit Nanakorn (16-17). Bantam: Tommy Clarke (6-3-2) W PTS 10 Kartu Arang (1-13-3). Casey's career on up since win over Tim Bell in August. Komgrit late sub. Clarke, 24, wins vacant Aussie title with wide unanimous verdict over poor Arang from Papua New Guinea. Scores 98-92 twice and 98-93. Second attempt to win an Australian title for both of them. Filipino Asis wins Australian title in unfortunate circumstances. The former “Contender” participant has scored five wins since losing to Miguel Angel Cotta for the WBA welter title in 2008. First fight for Texan Green since loss to Sergio Mora 13 months ago.
“Lil Warrior” Franco given a tough night by useful Lora. Franco gives away the first round and getting too involved instead of boxing. Dominican Lora, 25, loses points in third and eighth for spitting out gum shield, but keeps it a close. Scores 77-73 twice and 76-74. Experienced Nigerian southpaw Attah, 34, gets off to a better start as he counters the wild aggression of Farenas. Farenas coming on in the fifth only to be shaken by an Attah counter. Attah then tires and loses a point in sixth for holding, is knocked down in seventh and is exhausted and holding on at the end. Erratic scoring sees Farenas take a majority verdict on scores of 79-71, 78-72 and 75-75. Filipino southpaw Farenas rebuilding after upset loss to Marlon Aguilar last year. Attah, who lost to Acelino Freitas in a challenge for the WBO super feather title in 2002, had resurrected his career with kayo of Marvin Quintero.
Surfers Paradise, Australia: Super Middle: Kashif Mumtaz (8-24-1) W TKO 1 Les Sherrington (27-6). Unfortunate defeat for Sherrington in non-title fight, as he is knocked down and injures his ankle in falling and unable to continue. Mumtaz, 33, a Pakistani based in New Zealand, had lost his last four. Sherrington, 28, the WBFoundation and PABA champion had won his previous eight. Sherrington is due to fight Junior Talipeau on June 24, so no time to fit in a return.

Only loss for Haapoja was to Russian heavy Denis Bakhtov in 2008, and he is unbeaten in eleven since then. Kracik, 39, has lost his last three now. Rosberg, a 6'5” southpaw floors 6'6” Pole in the fourth on the way to a 60-53 points win from all three officials. Rosberg, 30, was a mainstay of the Finnish amateur team for many year. He won a majority verdict over Haapoja for the Finnish heavy title in 2009, but tested positive for a banned substance, and the result was changed to a No Decision. Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania: Super Middle: Benson Mwakyembe (7-1-1) W TKO 6 Charles Kakande (4-8-1). Ugandan Kakande had threatened to kayo the local fighter in three rounds, and came close to doing it. Kakande won the first two rounds and then floored Mwakyembe in the third. The Tanzanian was badly hurt but survived the round. Kakande seemed to have shot his bolt and Mwakyembe won the fourth and fifth and had Kakande in trouble in the sixth when the referee stopped the fight. First fight for 14 months for Mwakyembe. First fight for 16 months for Kakande, and fifth loss in his last six.
Leon, Mexico: Super Feather: Martin Honorio (30-6-1) W TKO 2 Eugenio Lopez (20-18-1). Honorio bounces back from loss last month to Luis Cruz and floors and halts Lopez at the end of the third. Honorio lasted less than a minute in a challenge to Robert Guerrero for the IBF feather title in 2007, but is a much better fighter than that result.
