Ayr today, gone tomorrow

After much organisation, Prospect Boxing regrets to announce that its September 10th show at Ayr Town hall has been cancelled.

The cancellation is due to the headliner and local boxer Paul Allison's involvement in a minor motor accident.

"Paul Allison was in a car crash on his way to training on Wednesday evening," said PB owner Paul Graham.

"I’m pleased to say that he is OK but has been advised to rest with no physical activity for a few weeks thus ruling him out of the show."

The fight card also suffered further problems after one of the other Prospect fighters picked up an injury in training and was doubtful. Paul Graham goes on to reveal his disappointment "A lot of time and preparation went into bringing this show to Ayr," continued Graham. "This was the first professional show in Ayr in 60 years ,and I was looking forward to giving the boxing fans and the locals a good show.

"We will look to reschedule this later in year and make up for the disappointment."

Small hall promoting is often a thankless task and Graham deserves a bit of luck in his efforts to help resurrect local boxing in Scotland.
