Amir Khan 'killing himself' to stay at light-welter, says Kell Brook
Kell Brook is confident that WBA light-welterweight champion Amir Khan will have to move up in weight eventually as the Bolton man is "killing himself" to stay at 140lbs - and when he does, the Sheffield prospect will be waiting for him.
"If Amir Khan goes to 147, that's my division," Brook told the BBC. "He says he's going to do that - why not fight me?
"He's talking about fighting Mayweather and Pacquiao but he's got to prove himself and I'm the best in Britain at welterweight so let's make it happen.
"He's definitely going to step up. I know that he's killing himself to make ten stone so he's going to move up to my division. Best thing for me to do is to grab hold of a world title and then he needs to fight me because he'll want that belt I've got and it will be easier to make the fight happen.
"I want the fight so bad, the fans want it so let's make it happen. Look at when you get two British fighters (together) people who don't even follow boxing, everyone tunes in to watch.
"It's the fight the fans deserve. I desperately want the fight. Everyone talks about it around me and I believe I've got his number.
"I'm not getting any younger and you've got to be young - it's not good to be old in this game. I'm prime now to be world champion and hold on to it for ages and dominate."
