All too easy for Dallas
If Karl Place’s night was a little one-sided, Chatham heavyweight Tom Dallas didn’t even have to break sweat as he improved to 13-0 with a first round stoppage over German journeyman Werner Kreiskott.
The 25 year-old Kent roofer has now dispatched ten victims inside three rounds, but once again has been matched with an opponent who adds little or nothing to him other than another tick in the win box.
In honesty no one expected anything else with Kreiskott boasting just eight wins in his previous 24 matches even if he took Martin Rogan six rounds less than three months ago.
Dallas (16st 9lbs 7oz), a professional for almost two and a half years, may have weighed lighter than Kreiskott (17st 5lbs 8oz) but his power was soon doing the heavy damage.
A beefy right hand to Kreiskott’s head wobbled him as he leaned on the ropes, before a further right and left produced a heavy knock down.
Despite rising at the count of six another left and right and put him back in the seated position, where he sat for three seconds longer than his first visit to the canvas.
Referee Richie Davies took a long look, before allowing Dallas another opportunity at his foe and he quickly finished the affair with a sapping body shot.
Davies sensibly waved it off without counting at 1:54.
Promoter Frank Maloney claimed afterwards that Dallas is ready for any British heavyweight and is keen to match him with anyoneone except stable mate David Price.
Surely there is someone out there who would relish taking him on otherwise we are going to keep seeing history repeat itself.
I have seen several of Dallas’s bouts and his obvious power can threaten any heavyweight, but he quickly needs to share the ring with someone who can do more than assume the role of target practice.
Why not start by facing the winner of John McDermott and Larry Olubamiwo in two weeks time?
