Webb to defend British title against Concepcion
Sam Webb will make the first defence of his British light-middleweight crown against Leicester banger Martin Concepcion at a venue in London to be confirmed on Saturday October 16. Frank Maloney promotes.
Webb captured the British title following a disputed majority points victory over the eccentric Anthony Small in March to improve his record to 16-1 (4). Concepcion gets his chance on the back of retaining his Midlands Area crown following a repeat victory over Lincoln’s Kevin Hammond in April which saw him recover from a third round knockdown to win narrowly on points.
Concepcion, 17-7 (10), had previously controversially decisioned Hammond which clinched him the final slot in February’s Prizefighter light-middleweight tournament (won by Prince Arron) but the Leicester man was outpointed in the quarter-finals by Steve O’Meara.
