Primetime TV Boss reviews details of Froch-Abraham Telecast

Earlier today Boxrec News caught up with Primetime TV boss, David McConachie, to find out more details on their upcoming telecasts, particularly the mouth watering WBC Super Middleweight Title clash between Carl ‘The Cobra’ Froch and Arthur Abraham at The Hartwall Arena, Helsinki on 27th November 2010.

The Froch-Abraham world title clash has the ingredients to become fight of the year; it is an evenly matched duel that will probably turn into an all out war of attrition in the centre of the ring. The Nottingham man will be looking to claim back his WBC belt after his narrow, but decisive points loss to Kessler, and Abraham will be intent on making amends for his controversial disqualification against Dirrell.

Primetime boss McConachie outlined the schedule for the Froch-Abraham telecast (all of below is included in £14.95 PPV Froch-Abraham subscription):

7.30pm – Primetime telecast goes on air. In a London studio, Andy Kerr will anchor the show and will be joined by Darren Barker and Niall Hickmann (Carl Froch biographer) with one more pundit to be announced.

The Primetime commentary team will be Ron McIntosh and Spencer Oliver (Is this the biggest ever height difference between lead and co-commentators? - Ed.)

7.45pm – Screening of Allan Green – Glen Johnson fight (highlights or full fight tbc)

8.20pm – Live undercard coverage from Finland. Piispanen v Rassila

(EBU Light Welterweight Title fight)

9.25pm – Live undercard coverage from Finland. Robert Helenius v Attila Levin (EBU Heavyweight Title fight)

10.30pm – Froch/Abraham ring walk and fight

After the Froch – Abraham fight, the Primetime telecast will finish and the channel will go off air.

2am – Primetime come back on air and will screen live coverage the Ward – Bika fight from Oakland, Calfornia from the Showtime Telecast.

Additionally, Primetime will be screening the WBO Super middleweight clash between Robert Stieglitz v Enrique Ornelas from Germany on 20th November 2010. Primetime are offering a combo of the Stieglitz and Froch fights for £19.95.

Despite the addition of new sports subscription channel, Premier Sports, McConachie confirmed that Primetime have no plans to change their current PPV model.

“We have no plans to change our model - we were set up as a PPV channel and intend to stay that way.”

On competition from Premier Sports, McConachie was upbeat:

"With Premier in the mix fight fans stand to benefit, and that can only be a good thing. We set up Primetime partly because we felt fight fans were being neglected - now that appears to be changing.'
