Michael Sprott could face Roy Jones Jr in March

Having won the most recent Prizefighter heavyweight tournament at the sprightly age of 35, we are possibly seeing the best of Michael Sprott right now.  His tactics, speed, patience and agility seem better than ever.  Therefore there is no surprise that he is calling out the likes of Roy Jones Jr in order to capitalise on his new found form.

BoxRec News caught up with Michael Sprott and he discussed the possibility of a fight with Roy Jones.

"Roy Jones was in the UK for a few weeks and I caught up with him and his team.  Currently the fight is being negotiated and I'm hoping for a target date of March next year."

There have also been rumours of Sprott moving to MMA due to his speed and agility.  BoxRec News also asked Sprott about this distinct possibility. "I am always up for a challenge and MMA is an option for the future, but right now I want to focus on a potential fight with Roy Jones Jr.  I know I can beat him and he will be a big scalp on my record."

Sprott has been looking sharper than ever, partly due to his new found focus and preparation.  "I feel better than ever.  I am currently in training and I started last week.  I will probably spar with Wladimir Klitschko for three or four weeks in preparation for his fight with Derek Chisora.  Things couldn't be any better."

A fight which Sprott will be paying close attention to will be David Haye v Audley Harrison on November 13th.

"Audley has a puncher's chance, he will never outbox David.  Audley will try to take Haye in to the later rounds and hope he gets tired.  However, I think Haye will win in under five rounds.  I would love to fight the winner and I'm open to offers."

Michael Sprott is widely seen as one of the nicest guys in British Boxing and his efforts have not gone unnoticed amongst his fanbase.  He is very much the British 'Cinderella Man' and should never be under-estimated.

He has a message for his fans in Britain and Europe. "I would like to thank all my loyal fans for their dedication and support through thick and thin.  I could not have bounced back in style without your support.  You can all hook me up directly on my Facebook fanpage."

Michael feels that he has just peaked and we have not seen the best of him yet.

"This is the most focused I have ever been and I'm in the best shape of my life.  I have matured and improved like fine wine.   I am currently in the best form of my career because I am no longer making the mistakes I used to make."

The future seems bright for Michael and the world is his oyster - and it could not have happened to a nicer guy.  Fans can contact Michael directly on the following Facebook fanpage http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/Michael-Sprott/161142403908870
