Ian Millarvie wants to be one of PG's "tips"
Fauldhouse former professional referee Paul Graham (PG), recently converted to promoter and having opened his account with a successful show in Cleland Miner's Club, has been instrumental in Ian Millarvie's return to professional boxing following three years out.
"Big Millarvie", who is unbeaten in seven fights (five KO's), is a ticket seller in Lanarkshire and will resume his undefeated heavyweight career under Paul's guidance with a five fight deal. I'd met Ian at the funeral of Archie McKay and he wasn't in the mood for returning to the ring in June. However time is a great healer and it now looks as though the Hamilton giant is ready to give it a second chance! Good luck to him and I sincerely hope he fulfils his promise with this second bite at the cherry.
PG has also signed up three Irish boys (names to be advised) as well as Lanarkshire local boxers Mark Bett and Chris Steel. With this cache of local boxers and a smattering of Irish, his stable will put "bums on seats" in this hotbed of Scottish pugilism. November in the Wishaw Sports Centre will have quite an atmosphere when the locals clash.
