Harrison sparks Sprott in the last round
Audley Harrison, behind on all three scorecards, pulled a 'Hail Mary' left hook out of the bag in the twelfth and last round to spark Michael Sprott and win the vacant European heavyweight title at London's Alexandra Palace tonight.
Committed southpaw Harrison hardly threw a right hand from the early stages and after the fight said he'd boxed with an injured shoulder from round two onwards.
Right up until the final punch, it looked like a typical Harrison performance, lacking in commitment with very occasional bursts of class.
The 2000 Olympic champion has had his heart questioned and, fair's fair, he went a long way to addressing those criticisms tonight.
Wow.
