Harrison labels Haye "a joke" as Twitter row escalates

Audley Harrison has labelled David Haye a “joke” in their latest verbal exchange on social networking site, Twitter. On Monday, Harrison urged Haye to finally end mounting speculation and sign for their mooted clash at Manchester’s M.E.N Arena on November 13 but was unceremoniously told to “shut the f**k up” yesterday by Haye in the WBA champion’s latest “tweet.”

Today Harrison has responded to Haye, posting on his Twitter page:

“Keep talking! You have your sidekick wasting our time working out a deal, yet you won't sign. Adamek is cut and Valuev is injured. Hope your not waiting for James Toney this weekend.”

“You really are becoming a joke blood. You are in for a big surprise. My left hand will connect with your chin at some point and you will be OUT COLD. 30 chin-ups are not going to protect your chin. MAN UP and sign!”

In fairness, Harrison makes several pertinent observations. With Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko’s next title defences already sealed against Shannon Briggs and Samuel Peter respectively, Haye has few attractive options available to him for his next title defence. Popular Pole Tomasz Adamek sustained cuts to both his eyes during his unconvincing win over fringe contender Michael Grant at the weekend.

Faded veteran Toney, who will make his UFC debut against Randy Couture on Saturday, is surely no longer a credible option. While Valuev, who is believed to have options on Haye, has been ruled out for at least six months to have surgery on his left shoulder and right hand.

Over to Haye then.
