Edinburgh welter rivals to get it on again

The closeness of the bout in November’s Scottish welterweight title match between Edinburgh’s Gary Young and Gary McMillan has brought about a touch of sanity in a sport not always guaranteed to have sense overrule expediency.

 

Defending champion Young has accepted the rematch with McMillan in the not too distant future. Firstly though, Young will take a six or eight rounds warm up bout in England in preparation for the eagerly awaited re-run.

 

This bout has more than the Scottish title belt at stake, and would surely benefit from an Edinburgh airing rather than have their respective fans traipsing over to Glasgow. That though, is where sense may not prevail!
