Craig McEwan turns 18 in the Mandalay Bay
Edinburgh boxer Craig McEwan notched up his 18th victory with an eighth round stoppage of Kris Andrews, the Canadian light-middleweight champion, on the undercard of Bernard Hopkins' win over Roy Jones Jr.
With ten stoppages on his slate McEwan has moved onto a level of punching power which was not noticeable during his long and successful amateur career.
Having been his team manager on occasions in the amateur code, I'm very happy that the likeable southpaw has made such progress in the paid ranks vindicating his decision to move to the sunnier climes of California!
McEwan also hopes to be back in Edinburgh in the near future to await the birth of his second child expected in June.
