'Business as usual' says Hatton Promotions boss

In a statement issued by Hatton Promotions boss Gareth Williams, it is made clear that in their opinion, it is simply a case of 'business as usual' in the wake of the British Boxing Board of Control's disciplinary action against the company's figurehead, Ricky Hatton.

"Ricky’s promoter's licence has not been affected.  Gareth Williams CEO of Hatton Promotions would like to make it clear that it is business as usual for Hatton Promotions.

"Ricky Hatton has invested heavily over the past 18 months to develop the fastest growing boxing promotional company in the country. Hatton Promotions has an exciting stable of fighters with established champions and some of the best prospects in the country.

"One of their rising stars, Scott Quigg fights in Bury this Saturday, the following week, Manchester favourite Stephen Foster Jnr challenges for the European title in Bolton live on Sky TV.

Until Ricky has made a full recovery, no decisions will be made regarding his withdrawn licences. Ray Hatton, Ricky’s father, has discussed the Board's decision with Ricky and he obviuosly respects and accepts the same.

"Ricky is pleased that he has kept his promoter's licence and that his company can continue to grow from strength to strength in his absence. He has full confidence in his team and looks forward to returning to the company when he has made a full recovery."
