Brook v Jennings off again

Kell Brook v Michael Jennings - a mouth-watering domestic clash between two high quality welterweights - seems ill-fated.  The proposed Feburary 13th match has been called off for a second time after 'Chorley Lurcher' Jennings sustained a hand injury in training.

The fight was originally due to happen late last year before Sheffielder Brook contracted a virus which weakened him, preventing him from completing his full training programme.

Jennings' complaint is said to be a flaring up of a knuckle injury which happened in his 80-72 shutout of journeyman Laszlo Komjathi in Liverpool last October.

Brook, 23, still boxes on February 13th at Wembley Arean, for the WBO Intercontinental title against current holder Krzysztof Bienias.  The 29-year-old Pole is 32-3 but hasn't lost since being stopped on a cut in the second round of a European title challenge against then champion and Brook's stablemate, Junior Witter.  Bienias currently holds the number four ranking with the WBO - Brook is seven; the victor won't be far away from a tilt at a senior belt.

The young Yorkshireman was criticised for his 're-fuelling' habits early in his career but reports from gym insiders say he is taking this one very seriously and has been training hard.  He might need to.
