BoxRec News makes things happen for Scottish promoter

A recent BoxRec News article, in which Scottish referee turned promoter Paul Graham put out a call for boxers looking for a promoter, has been a great success for Graham's promotional outfit.

Graham told BoxRec News “My phone was red hot for the first few days after the article was published.” He received calls from several foreign boxers willing to box on his shows in the future and also received enquiries from a number of boxers from the UK looking for a promoter.

Graham is extremely excited about signing an unnamed Scottish amateur boxer who is due to compete in one more amateur bout before turning pro. Calls were also received from Northern Ireland, which has led to Graham signing Northen Irish prospect Brian Cusack, a light heavyweight (currently unbeaten in two fights) along with fellow countrymen Joe Rea (7-1-1, middleweight) and Willie Thompson (6-1-1, light middleweight).

Scottish welterweight Mark Bett (5-9-5) completed the signings to Graham's promotional outfit and a number of these fighters will feature on Graham's next show at the Wishaw sports centre on Friday 19 November.

The promoter is also keen to get other boxers and matchmakers to take notice of his new charges and told BoxRec News.  “I would like to ask either Gary Young or Ciaran Duffy to fight Joe Rea over 8 x 3 as an eliminator for the International masters light middle title. It’s not the biggest title but the winner will get a chance to challenge Yassine el Maachi for the title”

Graham was also keen to point out that “Joe, Willie and Brian are especially keen to keep busy and have told me that they will work in the away corners as long as they get 50/50 fights and are kept busy, so take note all you matchmakers out there!”
