Badger sick as parrot with postponement

Kris "Badger" Hughes is as sick as the proverbial parrot with the enforced postponement of his title challenge against Londoner Matthew Marsh for the vacant Commonwealth super-bantamweight belt. The bout scheduled for Houghton-le-Spring on the 23rd July has had to be put back with the London man suffering injuries sustained in a car crash whilst on his way to training.

"Badger" has been in Cork with his coach, former world champion Paul Weir, in preparation for his biggest challenge to date. His preparation has included sparring with Alexi Costa, Adrian Gonzalez and Dean Harrison without worries over his weight making regime. His loyal fanbase had also booked their coach for the trip to Wearside.

Nonetheless, the postponement will not deflect the undefeated Scot, and Marsh can be assured that the "Badger" won't be found wanting on whatever date is eventually found for the title bout.
