“PG Tips” and Hastie likes the taste!

Fauldhouse former referee Paul Graham now turned aspirant promoter, has offered Jason Hastie a three fight deal over a year’s contract in a bid to relaunch the boxers somewhat stalled career. The Edinburgh featherweight has boxed only once in the last two years.

Hastie is reported as having commented: "Paul Graham's offer definitely interests me and I hope to tie things up with him soon. I'm really fit as I've been training with ex-world champion, Paul Weir, but I can't wait to get back into ring action and earn some much needed money again.

"Paul has told me that he's promoting his first show really soon and I'd definitely like to be on that bill."

Former referee Graham has invested a considerable sum of his own money into the promotional arm of professional boxing with the financial bond lodged with the BBBoC and sees a niche in activities on the Eastern side of Scotland and he could well be right. Both of Scotland’s established promoters Messrs Gilmour and Morrison are firmly established in Glasgow, with Edinburgh a promoter’s desert by comparison.

In another act of magnanimity, Graham has even given the option to Hastie of a get-out after 12 months to allow the boxer to sign with a bigger promoter once he wins his first three bouts under his promotional wing.
