December 11
Montreal, Canada: Light Heavy: Jean Pascal (25-1) W PTS 12 Adrian Diaconu (26-2). Middle: David Lemieux (20-0) W KO 2 Delray Raines (17-7). Light Heavy; Eric Lucas (39-7-3) W KO 4 Ramon Moyano (27-9-3), Light: Benoit Gaudet (21-2) W TKO 3 Jorge Banos (4-6-3). Welter: Manolis Plaitis (14-0-1) DREW 8 Tebor Brosch (4-3-4). Gutsy Pascal, joint winner of Fight of the Year with Carl Froch, outworks and outboxes former champion Diaconu to retain WBC title. Pascal does the cleaner work and effective counter punching whilst Diaconu spent too long waiting to get his punches off. Pascal dislocated shoulder at the end of the third and had it popped back in between rounds. The shoulder dislocated twice more, but Pascal a clear winner on scores of 118-110 and 117-111 twice. Another patsy for Lemieux who floors poor Raines three times on way to stoppage and win No 20 by KO/TKO. Former WBC super middle champion Lucas returns to action and puts away Moyano (the son of Carlos Monzon) with a left hook. Lucas lost and then won against Glenn Catley for WBC title. Former WBC super feather title contender Gaudet scores two knockdowns and Banos pulled-out at end of third. Canadian light welter champion Plaitis has to settle for majority draw against Brosch in non-title fight.
Johannesburg, South Africa: Welter: Jan Zaveck (28-1, 1 ND) W TKO 3 Isaac Hlatshwayo (29-2-1, 1ND). Super Feather: Oscar Chauke (25-5-2) W KO 1 Tendai Sanyarukova. Super Feather: Warren Joubert (16-0-1) W KO 2 Pat Masango (16-11-5).Slovenian Zaveck hurts Hlatshwayo in first, floors champion again in the second, and twice in third to lift IBF title. Zaveck too strong but Hlatshwayo showed nothing. Former WBF champion Chauke, a silver medallist behind Don Braodhurst in the 2006 Commonwealth Games, finishes Zimbabwean novice in just 46 seconds and Joubert too much for Masango.
Sacramento, USA: Heavy: Nagy Aguilera (15-2) W TKO 1 Oleg Maskaev (36-7). Upset as Dominican Aguilera crushes 40-year-old, former WBC champion Maskaev, in just 114 seconds. Maskaev, floored twice, blows chance of eliminator with Ray Austin. Aguilera a former US under-19 amateur champion, even failed to win New York State title two fights ago.
East London: South Africa: Bantam: Nkqubela Gwazela ( 18-7) W PTS 10 Nick Otieno (19-4). Controversial decision as Kenyan Otieno forces action and looks to have boxed his way to a clear verdict only to see majority decision go to the home fighter on scores of 97-95, 96-95 and 96-96.
Sydney, Australia: Super Middle: Peter Mitrevski Jr ( 21-6-1) W TKO 4 Opeti Tagi (13-6). Light Welter: Gairy St Clair (42-10-2) w pts 6 Moses Seran (21-17). Mitrevski floors poor Tagi in third and again in fourth to win IBF Pan Pacific title. Former IBF super feather champion and Amir Khan victim St Clair has to climb off floor to win close unanimous decision.
Santa Cruz, Argentina: Welter: Hector Saldivia (32-1) W TKO 8 Omar Weiss (40-9-3). Saldivia forces veteran Weiss to take standing count in seventh then bad cut above eye sees Weiss stay in corner at end of eighth.

Porto Torres, Italy: Cruiser: Tore Erittu (18-0) W PTS 12 Shawn Cox (9-1). Middle: Lorenzo Cosseddu (22-4-4) W PTS 12 Israel Carrillo (11-2). Erittu, who beat Dan Price as an amateur, wins vacant IBO Mediterranean title with clear unanimous verdict over Barbadian southpaw Cox, who beat Tony Jeffries in the 2005 Commonwealth championships. Scores 116-110 by all three judges. Cosseddu wins same IBO title at middle with close unanimous verdict over Spanish champion.
December 12
Berne, Switzerland: Heavy: Vitali Klitschko (39-2) W PTS 12 Kevin Johnson (22-1-1). Heavy: Jonathon Banks (23-1) W TKO 1 Marcel Zeller 22-6). Heavy: Alex Ustinov (19-0) W PTS 12 Monte Barrett (34-9). Boring fight as Klitschko dominates from first round against Johnson who seems content to go the distance. No real excitement as Klitschko retains WBC title for third time on scores of 120-108 twice and 119-109. First time Klitschko has been taken the distance since 2001. Banks hurts German inside ten seconds then floors and halts him in 37 seconds. Russian Ustinov, 33-years-old and 6’7”, retains WBA European Boxing Association title with wide unanimous verdict over 38-year-old Barrett on scores of 118-109, 117-110 and 116-112, but Barrett performed better than scores suggest after suffering flash knockdown in first.
Chicago, USA: Light Welter: Paul Malignaggi (27-3) W PTS 12 Juan Diaz (35-3). Light Welter: Victor Ortiz (25-2-1) W TKO 7 Antonio Diaz (46-6-1). Light Welter: Randall Bailey (40-7) W PTS 8 Germaine Sanders (27-8). Light Middle: Ronald Hearns (23-1) W TKO 6 Shadrach Kipruto (18-14-2). Heavy: Dominic Guinn (32-6-1) W PTS 6 Charles Davis (19-18-2). Light Middle: Erislandy Lara (9-0) W PTS 10 Luciano Perez 17-10-1). Light: Hylon Williams (12-0) W PTS 8 Humberto Tapia (14-12-1). Malignaggi leaves no room for doubt as he gains revenge for controversial loss to Diaz in August. Malignaggi has too much speed and movement for aggressive Diaz who never really manages to get to close quarters. Cut to Diaz no real factor and Malignaggi playing to the crowd at the end as he wins on scores of 116-113 on all cards. Now he wants Ricky Hatton again. Ortiz rebuilding after June loss to Maidana floors Diaz in third and has him badly cut and beaten at end of sixth and not out for seventh. Ortiz lost inside a round to Amir Khan as an amateur. Former WBO champion Bailey floors modest Sanders three times for stoppage. Cuban southpaw Lara controls the action to take unanimous decision over Mexican. Hearns rebuilding stops game Kenyan. Too heavy and fighting a staph infection, Guinn plods to unanimous decision. Prospect Williams, 19, remains unbeaten.
Rancho Mirage, USA: Light Welter: Tim Bradley (25-0,1ND) W PTS 12 Lamont Peterson (27-1). Super Fly Vic Darchinyan (33-2-1) W KO 2 Tomas Rojas (32-12-1). Feather: Salvador Sanchez (18-3-2) W PTS 6 Rodrigo Andrade (8-12-2). Bradley brilliant as he outboxes game Peterson to retain WBO title for second time. Bradley skill and movement too much for aggressive interim champion Peterson who is floored in third and loses for first time. Scores 120-107, 119-108 and 118-110. Now Bradley wants Amir Khan. In southpaw battle great left from Darchinyan finishes interim champion Rojas to retain WBC title and register win No 27 by KO/TKO. Lanky Hernandez punches too hard for aggressive Nicaraguan Narvaez and wins unanimous verdict. Australian hope Zappavigna, 22, impressive in pounding Mexican and wins every round. Lenny was halted in 2006 Commonwealth Games semi finals by Frankie Gavin. Sanchez needs a strong finish to get a majority decision over modest Mexican.
St James, Trinidad & Tobago: Super Middle: Kirt Sinnett (19-1) W TKO 11 Jermain Mackey (18-5). Sinnett starts fast, but then fades. Mackey looks on top until hurt and floored in eleventh. Mackey beats the count but hurt and cut badly and referee stops the fight. Sinnett gains revenge for 2007 stoppage loss and wins vacant WBA Fed Latin title and puts himself in line for shot at Commonwealth title. Former undefeated Commonwealth champion Mackey stopped for second time in a row. Now 35, Kirt fought in the Commonwealth Games way back in 1994.
San Luis Potosi, Mexico: Light: Rene Gonzalez (26-1-1) W PTS 12 Noe Bolanos (20-5-1). Light: Pablo Cano (17-0-1) W KO 1 Tomas Sierra (8-17). Puncher Cano makes 14 by KO/TKO. Ruiz, a pro at 16, and already a former Mexican champion at 19, flattens poor Carrillo.
Mazatlan, Mexico: Super Bantam: Cris Mijares (38-6-2) W TKO 6 BJ Dolorosa. Former WBA and WBC super fly champion Mijares uses height and reach to batter Filipino who is badly bloodied in fifth and floored and stopped in sixth.
Manila, Philippines: Bantam: Eden Sonsona (18-5) W KO 1 Monico Laurente. Twenty-year-old southpaw Sonsona wins vacant Philippines title as he finishes Laurente in 45 seconds with right-left combo.
Centenario, Argentina: Light: Aldo Rios (47-5, 1ND) W PTS 12 Claudio Olmedo (16-2, 1ND). A Ricky Hatton victim back in 2003, and a winner over Jason Cook for the IBO title in 2004,Argentinian champion “Movie Star” Rios retains South American title with unanimous points win over previously unbeaten prospect Olmedo.
Cherbourg, France: Middle: Jean Marie Sainte (23-2) W TKO 4 Ruslans Pojonisevs (8-8-1). “The Brigadier” makes it 17 by KO/TKO as he floors Russian with a body shot and Pojonisevs does not come out for round four. One of Sainte’s two losses is to Tyan Booth in Canada in March.
Tepic, Mexico: Super Feather: Alejandro Sanabria (23-0-1) DREW 12 Abraham Rodriguez (18-9-2). Favourite Sanabria in a real war. With his right eye cut and closed, and on the floor from a body punch in the seventh, he battles hard to get a draw with national champion Rodriguez and retain NABF title on scores of 114-113, 112-115 and 113-113.
Sao Paulo, Brazil: Heavy: George Arias (44-11) W KO 2 Ademar Correa (12-6-1). Correa down three times as Arias retains Brazilian title. Now 35, defence No 14 for George, who lost to Johnny Nelson for WBO cruiser title in 2001 and to Audley Harrison in 2008.
North Perth, Australia: Super Bantam: Kenichi Yamaguchi (16-1-2, 1ND) W PTS 12 Roberto Lerio (14-8-1). Japan’s Yamaguchi wins unanimous decision and interim WBO Asia Pacific title as Filipino Lerio deducted two points for low blows, but scoring strange at 117-109, 115-110 and 114-112.
La Plata, Argentina: Light Middle: Luciano Cuello (26-1) W PTS 10 Carlos Velasquez (14-9-1).Cuello floors poor Nicaraguan in ninth on the way to unanimous verdict and retains WBC Latino title. Cuello’s only loss a close one to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
December 13
Osaka, Japan: Middle: Koji Sato (15-1) W PTS 12 Tetsuya Suzuki (23-8). All-southpaw battle sees former WBA title challenger Sato regain OPBF title with close but unanimous verdict over gutsy champion Suzuki. Scores 116-113 twice and 115-113.
