Ben Lawler: The Skegness man with a plan

Skegness, the long-standing holiday destination, situated on Britain’s east coast, revered for its arcades, caravan homes, sea, sand, and fish & chips isn’t known for its professional boxing scene. But former Army serviceman Ben Lawler (left), a resident of the popular seaside town, is making headlines for swapping punches, one of the first from the town to do so for over half a century.

Evangelou back in action on Feb 12th

Popular young light-welterweight prospect Chris ‘The Flash’ Evangelou returns to action this Friday for his second pro outing at Bethnal Green’s historic York Hall. The London-born Cypriot impressed on his debut, showing fast hands and sharp movement and looks set to be a firm fans favourite with his exciting style and striking speed. ABS Intermediate Championships 30-01-2010

The first Amateur Boxing Scotland Intermediate Championships had a good start with a highly enjoyable and well skilled day of boxing.

Baker answers Chisora SOS

Carl ‘The Fridge’ Baker has agreed to face Derek Chisora in an eliminator for the British heavyweight title at Wembley Arena on 13 February to end a confusing merry-go-round in the domestic heavyweight division.

 

The unbeaten Chisora, 11-0 (6), has been searching for an opponent since his British heavyweight title challenge to Danny Williams was shelved after Williams (pictured right, with Baker) pulled out with a viral infection last week.
